Score Reader: The reader follows and looks ahead in the score in order to cue the camera operators to line up important shots on performers and instruments.  Experience in performing classical and/or jazz music required.

Objectives: by the end of the Festival, interns should gain experience in

  • Reviewing a score and determining list of shots for camera operators

  • Collaborating with video crew on timing and placement of camera shots

  • Acquiring specific terms related to filming and photography

Duties: during the course of the Festival, interns will

  • Daily review the scores for the day’s performance and create list of shots

  • Attend every rehearsal to map out shots with Video team

  • Be present at every performance to read score and cue camera operators

  • Communicate with Festival Librarian regarding score needs

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  the ideal intern candidate possesses

  • Strong knowledge of reading classical music scores

  • Knowledge of placement of instruments in a chamber or orchestra setting

  • Some knowledge of camera operations

  • Ability to think quickly on the spot

  • Strong oral communication skills

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

  • Attention to detail

  • Willingness to work late nights
