Public Relations: The PR team is responsible for communicating the CMF brand and programming to the wider community.  Members of the team collaborate with the Marketing and Development teams to strengthen connections between the Festival and its patrons

Objectives: by the end of the Festival, interns should be able to

  • Identify industry-specific publications relevant to CMF programming

  • Be adept at norms for contacting and cultivating relationships between organizations and the media

  • Present Festival programming and artists’ information in a professional manner to press

Duties: during the course of the Festival, interns will

  • Update existing contacts at various media outlets

  • Follow-up with media leads for interviews, reviews, articles, calendar listings

  • Draft and edit press releases

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  the ideal intern candidate possesses

  • Knowledge of various forms of information distribution

  • Knowledge of performing, visual, or culinary arts preferred

  • Strong research and writing skills

  • Strong oral communication skills

  • Ability to take initiative, be disciplined, and detail-oriented

  • Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment
