Development interns assist with the cultivation of patrons through fundraising, identifying potential patrons, and working on long-term projects

Objectives: by the end of the Festival, interns should be able to

  • Describe the CMF brand to donors and communicate the impact of their support

  • Articulate best practices of outreach and cultivation of donors

  • Create strategy to cultivate new donors

Duties: prior to and during the course of the Festival, interns will

  • Familiarize themselves with the CMF brand and programming from past and current years

  • Research possible new donors who could support the mission of CMF

  • Draft correspondence to existing and potential donors

  • Follow up on leads for potential donors

  • Identify and welcome VIPs at performances and receptions

  • Generate fundraising ideas and work on existing fundraising project

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  the ideal intern candidate possesses

  • Knowledge of several forms of information distribution (traditional print and radio, social media platforms)

  • Strong research, writing and speaking skills

  • Ability to communicate professionally in social settings

  • Ability to work independently on projects

  • Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment
