Video: The Video Team captures live performances using remote-controlled cameras (Panasonic AW-HE130) for the CMF archives and for promotional materials. Interns have a chance to help plan and set up pre-set shots as well as identify shots during live performances.
Objectives: by the end of the Festival, interns should gain experience in
Planning of and executing shot sequences of performances
Operating remote-controlled cameras in different genres of musical performances
Duties: during the course of the Festival, interns will
Set-up and dismantle camera equipment daily
Plan pre-set and live shots during rehearsals
Collaborate with Score Reader to identify upcoming shots during performances
Work with high quality HD video equipment from Polycast, a company that facilitates live broadcasts from the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: the ideal intern candidate possesses
Knowledge of videography and photography and/or experience with joystick-related video games
Experience shooting classical music performances and/or knowledge of instruments in orchestral and chamber music
Skill in identifying visually appealing static and dynamic shots that correlate to score
Ability to work professionally in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 35 lbs
Willingness to work long days and late nights
Desired majors: Film; Art - photography; Music or Theatre - video/film
