Festival Finale & Reception | JazzPlasticity with Helen Sung
7:00 PM | The DiMenna Center Cary Hall
JazzPlasticity, a program inspired by the wonders of the brain and Sung’s time as the Jazz Artist-in-Residence at the Columbia University’s Zuckerman Institute.
At intermission, Sung will be joined by Dr. Sarah M. N. Woolley, Professor of Psychology and Principal Investigator at the Zuckerman Institute, will share her research on how songbirds can help decode the ways our brain interprets sound. Listen as the two discuss jazz music inspired "by the birds" and how Dr. Woolley's work impacted Sung’s writing of JazzPlasticity.
JazzPlasticity by Helen Sung and the Helen Sung Group has been made possible with support from Chamber Music America’s New Jazz Works program funded through the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.
